We’ve all heard that gaining access to the Android internal system with root access is how to get the most out of our devices. Well, the story is no different here with the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 smartphone.

The following is a new method that teaches you how to root the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 smartphone using Chainfire’s SuperSU. The SuperSU is the most common exploit to install on your phone that allows for the rooting permissions.

The Files You Need

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3

  1. Download the SuperSU exploit directly to the desktop of the computer.
  2. Plug the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 into the computer.
  3. Using the Copy and Paste feature, transfer the SuperSU file to the internal storage of the device. We call this the SD card.
  4. Once you are happy the SuperSU is on the SD card, unplug the device from the computer.
  5. Switch off the Xcover 3 because we are about to reboot it in the custom recovery mode.
  6. Press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time. Your device should get to recovery mode. If that doesn’t work, press and hold the Volume Up + Power button. The key combination varies between devices and it’s hard for us to tell with new devices.
  7. Now that you are in recovery mode — TWRP or CWM recovery mode — you can navigate to the ‘Install’ option from the menu. The wording starts with ‘Install” for both types of recoveries, but the exact wording will differ. CWM will say install from the SD card.
  8. Browse the SD card for the SuperSU file.
  9. Confirm you want to install the SuperSU exploit on your device when it issues the message on your display.
  10. That’s all you need to root the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 smartphone.
  11. Head back to the main recovery menu and choose to reboot the system.
  12. Once the device reboots, take control of your google account and you are done. Now you can install the root checker app from the Google Play Store and help save time.
  13. Since you have a custom recovery installed and root access, there are few limitations as to what you can achieve, taking NANdroid’s, installing custom ROMs and installing root-requiring apps from Google Play are all optional.

Check the guide worked well for you by installing the root checker app from the Google Play Store.
