In case the root tutorial for all the Galaxy S6 variants didn’t work for your Verizon Galaxy S6 for any reasons, here’s an alternative method that you can use to root your device.
The method below takes help of PingPong root to gain root-access on your Galaxy S6 that comes from Verizon. Once rooted, you can do a lot of things on your device, ranging from installing root-requiring apps to uninstalling system apps.
Here’s how you can do that:
Files You Need
- This should work on all the latest builds that are supported by PingPong root.
- Download PingPong Root from the attached files section to your computer. It’s an APK file that you can install on your device.
Rooting the Samsung Galaxy S6 (Verizon)
1. Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
2. Copy PingPong Root from your computer over to the SD card storage on your device.
3. When PingPong Root is copied, disconnect your device from your computer.
4. On your device, go to Menu->Settings->Lock screen and security and turn on Unknown sources. Enabling it means you’ll be able to install apps from outside the Google Play store on your device.
5. Open File Manager and tap on PingPong APK to install the app on your device.
6. When the app is installed, launch it from the app drawer.
7. Tap on Get Root in the app and follow the on-screen instructions to root your device.
8. Wait for it to gain root-access on your device.
9. When it’s done rooting, reboot your device.
10. You’re all set!
Your Verizon variant of the Samsung Galaxy S6 is now rooted. You can have it confirmed with Root Checker on your device.
