The Greenify application works like a charm on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE device once you have root access. Greenify is one of those apps that requires access to your root file system to work. That’s what we call rooting the Galaxy Note 10.1 device. The benefits of rooting come from applications.

With the Greenify app running on your Sammy device, you can work out which apps are slowing down your performance or using up your battery life. From there the Greenify app will nullify those apps from hurting your performance. It’s just one example of a rooted app that is a huge benefit to your device and is a great reason why you should root the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 using the Towelroot application.

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE 2014 SM-P605

  1. Make sure you have the Unknown Sources option turned on for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 by pointing to the Menu > Settings > Security > Unknown Sources. Now you can install third-party apps from outside the Google Play Store which is where this Towelroot exploit is that you need to install.
  2. Open any web browser app from your Galaxy Note 10.1 device — use Google Chrome if you like.
  3. Type the web address give in the files section (the Towelroot home page).
  4. Scroll down the page until you see the red Lambda symbol and tap on the same.
  5. Save the tr.apk file to your Note 10.1 device.
  6. Pull down your notification shade and tap the ‘Download complete‘ notification.
  7. Tap on the ‘Install‘ option.
  8. Pull down the notification shade once again and tap on the ‘Installation Complete‘ notification.
  9. The Towelroot app will now open on your device — this is where you get the root access.
  10. Tap on the Make it Ra1n button to root the device.
  11. Wait until you get the notification letting you know that it is complete. It will also tell you that you do not need to reboot your device before installing your root-requiring apps. However, we strongly recommend you do not leave yet.
  12. Open the Google Play Store and browse for the SuperSU app and continue to install the same.
  13. During the SuperSU installation, you might get prompted to update the SU binary. Agree to do that and follow the prompts to complete the SuperSU installation.
  14. You now have the SuperSU app permanently available from your app drawer until you choose to delete the app. You do not need to do anything with this app but keep it there and it will act as the gatekeeper to your rooted apps. Each rooted app must go through that SuperSU before it can have root access. That same SuperSU app will ping you whenever a rooted app wants to have root access to your internal system. Make sure you do not allow root access to any app that looks suspicious or that you do not recognize. These could be malware apps trying to exploit your system.
  15. Open the Google Play Store app on your Galaxy Note 10.1 once again and install the root checker app. Agree to allow superuser access and follow the prompts to have the root checker running. Now open the root checker app from the app drawer and check if your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 does have root access to the internal system.

Now that you have root access and the SuperSU installed, you can start installing your root-requiring apps like the Greenify app we wrote about earlier.
