Rooting your Huawei Ascend Y H866C smartphone is the way to get the apps working on your device that require root access. Rooting can also sometimes be the way to get a custom recovery installed on your device, but you don’t always need root access to do that.

The custom recovery is useful for those people wanting to install a custom ROM. many devices out there in the Huawei range don’t have a great deal of custom ROMs available, though so it’s usually done for the apps. there are heaps of extra apps you can install that aren’t available without root access.
