Let’s face it, every smartphone has an issue at some point. You install apps and root your devices to get rid of them. But what if it’s not even picking up your Sim Card? Sure, you can manage with problems with camera or certain apps but what if you can’t even make a call or send a text message? Not such a smartphone now, huh? “SIM card not inserted” or “Not registered on network” is an issue that you may encounter while making a message or a call. Don’t lose your brains, we have the solution for you. Well, five of them actually.

Galaxy S4

Method 1

  1. Go to the Settings and click on Wireless and Network option. Now go to the Mobile Network.
  2. It’s time to reboot your device! Long press and hold the power and Home button for a couple of seconds. Your phone will start to blink and them go black. LEave the buttons.
  3. Your device will now start rebooting. When the process is complete. check your phone again and inspect the issue.

Method 2

Booting your device to a safe mood is a great way to recognize any problem and take necessary actions against it. Safe mode diminishes all third party apps and then performs the task.

  1. Power off your device by pressing and holding the power button. Click Power Off and confirm it.
  2. Press the Menu Soft key at the left of the Home button when your phone starts to boot up. Keep pressing it.
  3. Keep pressing until your Home Screen appears and you will see Safe Mode at the bottom left of your screen.
  4. If the processing is carried out with any interruptions than a third-party app is responsible for your problem. Recognize the app and delete it. If the problem still sustains in safe mode, it is due to a hardware issue. Consult a technician

Method 3

If your phone is locked to a particular carrier then it won’t be able to process a SIM card of a different carrier. If this is the cause, go to a technician to get your device unlooked. You can also do it yourself  by using certain unblocking softwares available on the internet.

 Method 4

Hardware issues can also cause the problem. Remove your SIM card and clean your SIM card slot by blowing air so that the dust comes out. Defects in the sensors can also cause similar issues. To eradicate these faults, contact the service center to get it fixed.

Method 5

The last resort option should be the factory reset option. It’s the last because a factory rest erases all data on your device. Make sure to back up your device before performing this particular function.

  1. Go to Settings and then click Backup and Reset option there.
  2. Click Factory Data rest and then click on the Rest Device option.
  3. Press Delete All. Everything will be removed from your device now.
  4. Check your phone and hopefully all issues would had been resolved.

If you struggle to use the hard keys for taking the factory reset, you can download and install the application here.
