If you ever want to install custom firmware on the Oppo Reno 7Z CPH2343 smartphone, you need to format the data first which is done with a factory reset/hard reset.
People installing custom firmware may already have a custom recovery installed which has replaced the stock one which means they would hard reset from the custom recovery. You can boot to the stock and custom recoveries with the same button combination and you can hard reset from either recovery environment.
This tutorial demonstrates how to hard reset the Oppo Reno 7Z CPH2343 smartphone.
How to Hard Reset Oppo Reno 7Z CPH2343
You can hard reset the Oppo Reno 7Z CPH2343 smartphone by using the Settings app or Recovery Mode. One of the reasons to choose Recovery Mode is that you can wipe the data by itself without formatting the smartphone. However, you can also format from Recovery Mode as well. Here is how to hard reset from the Settings app first:
1. With the Oppo Reno 7Z turned on, tap Settings > Additional settings.
2. Tap Back up and reset.
3. Under the Data Erasure heading, tap Erase all data (factory reset).
4. Tap Erase all data.
5. When it says “This will erase all data,” tap Erase all data.
6. When it asks “Are you sure you want to continue,” tap Erase data.
You can also hard reset the Oppo Reno 7Z CPH2343 smartphone from Recovery Mode. You can use this same button combination regardless if you have a stock recovery or a custom one installed. Moreover, Recovery Mode lets you choose if you want to format the smartphone or just wipe the data. Here is how to hard reset using Recovery Mode:
1. With the Oppo Reno 7Z turned off, press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons simultaneously until the phone enters ColorOS Recovery.
2. Select the English language.
3. Select Wipe data > Format data.
Note: If you only wanted to wipe the data and not format the phone, you can select Wipe data > Wipe data instead.
4. Select Reboot > OK.
The Oppo Reno 7Z will reboot out of its Recovery environment and back into the Android operating system. Before you can start using Android again you may need to sign in to your Google account. You can reset your Google account password if you need to by visiting the sign-in page on Google.com because it’s the same account for both.
In conclusion, that is how to hard reset the Oppo Reno 7Z CPH2343 smartphone.
