As usual, there’s been no shortage of action surrounding Apple’s work and while we have lots of news to tell about Pangu this post is dedicated to the new iOS 7.1.2 software update that is rolling out OTA to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners already. Users can elect to download and install the update when the notification comes in or navigate their way to Settings > General > Software Update > Checking for Update to take a look manually if it is ready for you. The other option is to download the IPSW files manually like we have from the links below here. If you are using the unchained OS on the Pangu jailbreak, you won’t receive system notifications so installing the file manually is the only options. However, do note that it will revoke the break and to get it back you need to search for the Pangu iOS 7.1.2 version that is already out because Apple didn’t patch it up in this version.

iOS 7.1.2

Because I am addressing this a few days succeeding most, I’ve had the pleasure to sit back and take a look at issues people are facing with the over the air installation method. There is currently one immense bug in particular that is causing iPhone users to drop out half way through the installation process. That is never a good thing and is often the main reason we see data loss and people having to restore factory settings. If you get stuck in that predicament all, you have to do is hold the sleep/wake key and the home key at the corresponding time and wait for the Apple logo to show up on the display. You can do this while it’s happening in front of you, but that alone might be enough of a cause for several people to pass and skip to the links below instead, and I can’t blame you.

iOS 7.1.2 is only what I consider a minor update and addresses mainly bug issues and system enhancements. Many people were suffering from a bug in the iMessage delivery and encryption of email attachments. Apple implemented solutions for both of those cases in this new addition.

iOS 7.1.2 works for the following devices:

– iPhone 5C, iphone 5S, iPhone 5, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S
– iPad Mini, iPad Air, iPad 3, iPad 4 and iPad 2
– iPod touch 5th generation called 5G

We recommend taking a backup of the OS before proceeding just in case something goes awry, and you have to complete factory reset. It will wipe the data and sometimes we have no choice but to pursue that route. However, if we backup the contacts, call logs, SMS text, MMS text, market applications, photos, videos, music and anything extra you can conceive then we will have no problem putting all the sensitive data back on the Apple mobile device later.

There are two different methods to backup the iPhone and iPad. The first is to connect it with iTunes and navigate to Choose File > Devices > Backup. If you fancy this approach make sure, you turn off the iCloud option because you can’t backup with iTunes unless iCloud is disabled.

The second option is to enable iCloud and backup using the cloud. To do it this way navigate to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
