Sometimes being first on the scene isn’t always best. That’s what we seem to be seeing here on the smart watch front for Samsung.

Normally in tech, people love to be the first one’s out with a new generation of technology because then they get the credit for it and essentially it is very good branding for them. However, it comes at a risk because if the product is not yet ready for release, then it’s going to be a bad product and it will then have the reverse effect because nothing is worse than a bad product.

That’s where new leaked information on the Samsung galaxy Gear comes into play. Samsung made a special effort to bring the Gear out first, and by a whopping margin it would seem, but according to new information, 3 out of 10 people are returning the smart watch back to Best buy.

“The Galaxy Gear attachment rate within Best Buy is the highest among all channels; however the overall return rate is trending above 30%.”

The documents display that it was selling well, however, it was also being returned at a very high, and alarming, rate.
