If you own the second-generation Motorola Moto G smartphone from the “Hello Moto” company, you ought to keep your eyes peeled for a new Android 5.0.2 software update arriving over the air. The new OTA comes with the build number 22.21.28.

Motorola being a Google company last year before the Mountain View folks sold the Moto brand to Lenevo, means they’ve still got a strong bond. That’s clear with how well Google is looking after the Motorola Moto line of smartphones including the Moto X, Moto G and the budget Moto E. Motorola was first in line outside of Google own Nexus range for getting the official Android 5.0 Lollipop over the air signal. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with a bevy of features over the older KitKat, including new material design user interface and application drawer, Android Beam, Android RunTime (ART) replacing the dalvik system, tap and go NFC payments, important camera updates, Google security patches, smoother ROM experience, a new Easter Egg and plenty more.

From there we know 5.0.1 coming with bug fixes after many people were suffering from severe battery draining problems, some apps not working well with the new software update and other issues. Android 5.0.2 is the addition we are talking about here today, and it comes with further bug fixes and software improvements. Many device owners are still complaining after the release of 5.0.1 that their bugs were not addressed. You will find many of those patched in this installment.

Strong reports yesterday were suggesting that we might not see 5.0.2 for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and the Nexus 10 after Google stalled proceeding and didn’t release the OTA update for a long time. While that’s still not confirmed ,we do know that likely means they were still figuring out how to address the bugs people are complaining about. That means if you are looking for a battery draining solution or any number of other solutions you should install this OTA as soon as it’s available for you.

As you might not know, all OTA’s come to owners in stages. You might get your notification alerting you today or it might be several weeks from now. We don’t know the magical sequence of codes that delivers you the update, therefore it’s impossible for us or anyone to predict when it’s arriving for each person. Please leave comments if you are already using the aforementioned software update and can tell us what you are fining inside.

Those erring on the side of caution can always backup the current data on the smartphone before pressing the “download” and “install now” option from the device display when the notification arrives. use the built-in backup functionality to help or download a new application from the Google Play store. helium is popular for Android users this year.

We saw several new key features coming with Android 4.4.2 KitKat last year so we though that might happen again with the second-stage of Lollipop. That isn’t the case. Hopefully 5.0.3 Lollipop comes with some new inclusions.
