These instructions teach you how to install a custom recovery on the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 smartphone. The custom recovery differs from a stock recovery in that you can flash zip files from the custom version. These zip files are important for not only getting the root access to your device, but also to flash a new ROM. Samsung devices are usually looked after pretty well by third-party developers when it comes to new ROMs. ROMs are great for anyone who wants to update to newer unofficial versions of Android software updates that are not yet available official by your phone carrier provider.
The Files You Need
- Download the TWRP recovery you need from here.
- Download the Odin app for flashing with your PC. You may download any Odin version form the page; however, try using one of the later version that’s available during your time of visit.
- You must have a Windows PC to complete this guide. You cannot use the Odin flashing tool unless you are running Windows. Furthermore, you cannot run the Odin app if you are running Windows RT. The Windows RT is an operating system that comes with some Microsoft Surface tablets.
