While you don’t need a custom recovery on your LG Leon LTE to be able to install root-requiring apps, you do need one when you want to install a custom ROM on your device. Customizing every element on your device manually takes a lot of time and efforts, so you’re better getting a custom ROM and installing it on your device. It’ll change everything on your device at once. From the appearance of your device to the way your device works, it’ll all change once you’ve installed a custom ROM on your device.

Since you will have root on the LG Leon smartphone to have the custom recovery installed, you can take advantage of that root access by installing root apps to help you boot into the custom recovery image if you prefer. Applications like the Quick Boot app can now help you boot the device into the custom recovery image after it is installed so that way you do not need to remember the button combinations to get the new recovery image booting up on the display. So, here’s how you can go about installing a custom recovery on the LG Leon LTE:

LG Leon

Files You Need

1. Your device must be rooted before you can install a custom recovery on it. Please follow our how to root the LG Leon tutorial to root your device. Then come back here and do this tutorial.

2. You don’t need a computer to be able to do this tutorial. You can download the recovery app directly from the Google Play store on your device.

3. This only works on the LG Leon LTE (C50) model.

That’s all to it.

TWRP recovery was successfully installed on your LG Leon LTE and you can reboot into the same using Quick Boot on your device.

If you’ve wanted to install a custom ROM on your device, now is the perfect time to do so! All you need to do is boot your LG Leon LTE into the custom recovery mode and upload the custom ROM zip file.

Most of the time when people install custom recoveries, all they need is to have the bootloader unlocked. That’s because most of the time installing a custom recovery is done from using ADB on a computer and the running ADB commands to flash the custom recovery image. There are other times when installing the custom recovery is done with the help from root applications and those are the times when you need to root the device first just like we have here with the LG Leon LTE smartphone.

It doesn’t matter if you root the device first or don’t have the device rooted at all if you want to install custom ROMs or custom kernels because neither of those two things requires the device to be rooted before they can run. Most people just flash the custom ROMs from the custom recovery after the have the custom recovery image installed n the device.

However, since you have both root access and a custom recovery image replacing the stock recovery image on the Leon smartphone, you can now install the custom ROMs from the custom recovery image or use root applications to help you install the custom ROMs instead. Applications like the ROM Manager are perfect for that. Of course, you don’t need to install custom ROMs or custom kernels at all on your device. You might just want to install the root applications on the device instead and use the custom recovery image for taking the NANDroid Backups.

Whatever your reason for wanting the custom recovery image, having root access doesn’t affect it and you can always do the things you wanted to do with it—with or without having the root access. The root access is a bonus that allows you to do more things such as run the root apps. There are thousands of these root applications, most of which are available from the XDA-Developers web forum and the Google Play Store. There is no place in the Google Play Store that tells you all the names of the root applications though so you need to know the names of the root apps before you search for them.

You can find out the names of the best root apps for the Android operating system that is running on your LG Leon smartphone and then search for those. The list doesn’t show every root app available in the world. It’s just the highlight apps that we think are the best. You can find other root apps out there.
