Owners of the European Samsung Galaxy S5 with the G900F model number are finding the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update arriving over the air. OTA’s roll out to all customers in periods, meaning your friends may end up with the notification alerting them of a software update before you or the other way around. There’s no telling exactly when it’s arriving. However, we do know it’s on its way for all of you. Since there are many owners of the international Samsung Galaxy S5 it may take weeks and not days to finish rolling.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had significant Android features to talk about. The last stages of KitKat didn’t come with much but some Google security patches, bug fixes and an overall smoother UI. Lollipop, however, comes with an abundance of features that you are going to love.

Lollipop S5

Inside you will find the brand new material Design UI, Android runtime (ART), white background app drawer, a better battery saving mode compared with the last, new notifications menu, additional lock screen features, new multi-tasking menu, Smart Lock settings, and features that let you connect with Android Wear. Above all, we expect the operating system being the fastest and smoothest experience yet. We know Android 5.0.1 is available for the nexus 7 2013 as a factory image and the Nexus 10 has the LRX22C build. The rest of the Google Nexus handsets are finding the OTA soon. The first installment of a new jump up in software always comes with some bugs that need adjusting. However, since Samsung are playing second fiddle to Motorola and Sony when it comes to the Lollipop OTA, we’ve already viewed it running on other devices. We know the first installment is running smooth so you can download with confidence.

As you probably know, you now can stopover at the Settings > About Device > Software Update > Check For Updates and display if it’s available that way. Otherwise you ought to wait for the message alerting you it’s ready for installing. We suggest downloading using the WiFi from home because the phone carrier networks are busy with others installing the same Android 5.0 Lollipop LRX21T OTA as you. Furthermore, you avoid unwanted data charges.

Those wanting to air on the side of caution should backup the data before continuing with the Android 5.0 LRX21T firmware files. Google Drive offer a limited amount of free storage space if you are running out of space with the internal memory.

As always, we crave your comments about what you think about the latest work from the Mountain View company. is it everything you desired or is it lacking something? let us know if you are happy with the new firmware.
