How do I make Snapchat on Android have Dark Mode? I know Apple users have Dark Mode, but why isn’t it available for Android? Is there a way to force Dark Mode until it becomes available from Snapchat’s settings? My Android device is a Samsung. Resolution:
Root access on Android can help you with lots of mods, but thankfully for Snapchat users, it isn’t required to get Dark Mode working.
Dark Mode has become very common online. While most websites still don’t adopt it, the big social media platforms are increasingly finding users switching to it. Like with Twitter and Facebook, Snapchat users are looking to get into Dark Mode as well.
The way you would get Dark Mode for Snapchat varies depending on your smartphone’s operating system. Apple users have received Dark Mode for Snapchat before Android users. Snapchat has stated that Dark Mode will be coming soon for all devices, but that also means it isn’t yet available for everyone. When it does become available for your device, it will be available from inside the Snapchat app’s settings. There is, however, a workaround that forces the Android operating system into Dark Mode, and if you override the software with Dark Mode it will also work for the Android Snapchat app.
How to Get Snapchat Dark Mode on Android with No Root
You can force Dark Mode on Android to always show Dark Mode within the Snapchat app while you wait for the official Dark Mode to roll out to Snapchat’s Settings menu on the Android oeprating system. Here is how to do that:
1. Open the Android Settings menu.
2. Tap Display.
3. Tap on the toggle for Dark Mode to enable it.
4. Go back to Settings and tap on About Phone.
5. Scroll down to the Build Number and tap on it seven times or until it says “You are now a developer!”
Note: You may need to enter your pin code before it allows you to become a developer in the previous step.
6. From the Developer Options menu in Settings, scroll down HARDWARE ACCELERATED RENDERING and tap on Override force-dark to turn it on.
You can now close the Settings and continue using your device. The forced Dark Mode will work for all your apps, including Snapchat.
In conclusion, that is how to turn on Dark Mode for Snapchat without needing root access.
