Rooting a smartphone is easy and it hasn’t changed much since the days first begun with the Syiah kernel that is flashed using the Odin app. Again, we are using the Odin tool here today and when teamed up with some of ChainFire’s best work in the Cf Auto Root. It is understandable how rookie and novice users can achieve this task. Nonetheless having some experience around you is always preferable so if you have any friends that have done it before why not give them a cal land get them to come over for ten minutes while you complete this task.

Before making those plans realize that Odin requires a Windows PC and if you have an Apple Mac running OS X Mavericks, or a Linux kernel-based OS it will not work. With that knowledge, it might be you that needs to go to a friends house instead. You be the judge depending on who has the better system. Keeping in mind that we recommend using Windows Vista is a minimum operating system because XP is not supported and Microsoft are urgently offering incentives to get people to upgrade away.   • Rooting the Galaxy S5 will void the device manufacturer warranty. ChainFire, the same developer who made the tool we are using to root, has made an app called triangle Away from Samsung devices. After you root your smartphone you can use the Triangle Away to restore the flash counter and turn it back to 0. The flash counter ticks up when people root and this is how the workers know that the warranty is no longer applied. However, with this app it can take away the yellow triangle during the boot process that happens with custom firmware and turn back the counter.
  • Your device is running new XXUiANE2 official firmware and now you should backup to keep everything installed on the OS safe and away from disappearing. With official firmware signed off by Samsung and Android we do not ever expect data loss. It is just a precautionary measure. In typical Sammy fashion, the S5 came with 16 Gb of built-in storage space. After you take into account the 7 GB that Samsung uses just to include the stock applications and OS requirements that do not leave a lot of spare space for the user. For many of my friends in particular, they would have nothing left just after uploading all their baby photos and a small portion of their music. For them Sammy have made an additional 128 GB of external storage space available by means of microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC storage expansion memory cards. The slot for these is already mounted in the smartphone when you buy it, but the card itself is not. To get a card so you can use it, you have to go shopping either online or your local retailer.
  • Temporarily disable any antivirus or antimalware running on both the Windows-based PC and the Android S5. If you do not have any on the Android because you never thought to apply it on a mobile then think again because it is a good idea. A virus can attack you on mobile operating systems just like they can on computer and Android is more prone to these attacks than Apple iOS just like Windows is when compared to Mac.

Interestingly the average is 20 days and the average talk time is 12 hours for stand-by time. As you can see it is favorable for one side and unfavorable for the other. That being aid we want to store enough battery power to see us through this exercise. Many blogs will recommend at least 60% battery charge and no more because it is a new device and the battery should still be working close to how it was when brand new. It is also important to note tat it comes with USB charging naturally so when plugged into the computer it will charge automatically. Therefore, I don’t see a need to worry too much.
  • We know it is easy to overlook these prerequisites because you are anxious to get down to business and start installing. However, we recommend taking a look twice over to make certain you thoroughly grasp everything that is required and so you are left with no regrets.
  • Enable USB Debugging mode by touring the Develop Options. The Galaxy S5 begins with Android 4.4.2 TouchWiz UI out of the box so Develop Options will be there by default. It is only hidden in Android 4.2.

However, now Samsung make the same drivers for all devices under their name. You can download this with confidence that they are the correct drivers that you need. Uninstall any previously installed USB Drivers for Android phones.

How To Root Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE G900F On The New XXU1ANE2 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Firmware

1. Turn on the PC and login to the account.

2. Download the XXU1ANE2 CF-Auto-Root package to the C: Drive.

3. Download Odin 3.09 to the C: Drive.

Note: To retrieve the files to go Start > Search box and start typing in the name of the file. It will appear on the screen and you can double-click to unzip.

4. Turn the smartphone on in Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home and the Power buttons at the same time.

5. Open the Odin application.

6. Connect the smartphone to the computer with a USB cable.

Where is my USB Cable? Many people use it to connect the phone charger with every day without realizing what it is. It can be disconnected and used in the computer without the part that goes into the wall socket!

7. Click the AP button and upload the CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.tar.md5 file‘.

8. Leave Odin’s default settings as they are. This includes ticks in the boxes called Auto reboot and F Reset Time to mark them as in the “on” position.

9. Click Start.

10. Do not touch any buttons in Odin or elsewhere until it has finished. It will say “pass” when done and automatically reboot in recovery mode.

11. Shut down the program by clicking the “X” in the top right corner.

12. Right-click on the safe remove hardware icon in the task-bar to disconnect the USB Mass Storage device properly. This is of course the smartphone so that there is no data corruption. Now take it out when it says it is safe.
