As you might know about this new budget Android Smartphone, the LG Optimus C is the cricket variant of the series. It packs various features and great specifications at that low price tag. For a detailed list of specs, you could visit GSM Arena. But situated on the downfold of the device is the older version of the operating system it runs on. If you are now addicted to Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean, then his device might somewhat disappoint you in the field of operating systems. However, if you own this device and are looking to run those extra-ROM apps, then you will probably have to root this device so you can run some of the apps.
Before you begin the guide, you will need to make sure you have the LG Optimus C USB drivers. This is necessary when you connect the device to the computer. You have to connect it to the computer to root the device.
You will also need to have USB debugging mode enabled to complete this guide. You can follow the link that I provided and find out how to do that if you don’t know already.
Pre-Requisites:
So before starting off you need to have these things in place.
- Enough Battery life , so that the phone does faint while you are in process to root it.
- Download the Ginger Bread apk file. You could use Google to find this file on the internet.
Root LG Optimus C [Cricket]
Step 1. Transfer the apk file to your desktop.
Step 2. Connect the device to the Desktop using a USB cable.
Step 3. Copy that apk file to your SD card.
Step 4. After transferring the file , disconnect your device from the desktop.
Step 5. Turn on USB Debugging Mode. Go to Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging.
Step 6. Go to the File Manager and install the apk file you transferred from your desktop.
Step 7. After installation, open it from the app drawer.
Step 8. Just click on the option Root Device.
Step 9. After the process completes just reboot your device, and you’re done.
Before actually rooting your device you should keep in mind that would abandon you from the warranty rights, however, the warranty can be gained back by un-rooting the device again.
