Trying to find old ClockworkMod Recovery files online to try to fix up old tutorials has been an arduous task. Basically, it wasn’t possible to locate any download links for many of the old files. I found out that one of the reasons for the scarcity is that its developer started uploading the files directly to an app he calls ROM Manager. You can install your ClockworkMod Recovery files directly from ROM Manager instead.
If you don’t have ClockworkMod recovery already installed on your smartphone, you won’t be able to flash a custom recovery image. The reason for this is that a custom recovery such as CWM can only be installed from a custom recovery. Once you have a custom recovery installed already, the ROM manager makes it easier for you to update to newer versions. That doesn’t help me update my old articles, but it’s useful information nonetheless.
Here are the ROM Manager versions you can install:
- rom-manager-1-8-2-4.apk
- rom-manager-1-8-4-1.apk
- rom-manager-2-0-2-0.apk
- rom-manager-3-0-1-3.apk
