Google Chrome extensions are handy and easy to install. This latest Google Chrome extension, PrivacyFix Google Chrome extension lets users protect their privacy from things like Facebook and Google.

There are two main reasons why the PrivacyFix Google Chrome extension is growing popular. The first is it blocks advertisers from being able to target advertise by stopping them from looking at what you are doing. Why this is so popular, I’m not exactly sure. Hopefully, it’s the part where someone is tracking you that people want to be stopped and not the targeted advertising. The second reason is that it stops any of your friends that are connected to you via any social networking mishandle your information and give it to any businesses.

PrivacyFix doesn’t just block Facebook and Google either – in fact, it blocks over 1,000 sites altogether, but has a big emphasis on Facebook and Google.

PrivacyFix is easy to use. It shows you all of your privacy arrangements on a neat dashboard display, with easy options that allow you to choose what you want to share and what you don’t want to share. When browsing you can appropriately click a button called “fix, ” and it will tell you exactly what your current privacy setting are for the site you are visiting. PrivacyFix also lets its users protect their data from Facebook’s offline tracking services.

if your the type of person that gets a bit creeped out with what the web may know about you, and you don’t feel real comfortable with a lot of web surfing then the PrivacyFix Google Chrome extension is the right extension for you.

The PrivacyFix plugin is no longer available from the Google Chrome store to be installed as a plugin on your Google Chrome browser. Anyone looking for a similar kind of browser extension for Chrome should look at the Privacy Manager extension instead. The Privacy Manager extension is the most popular extension out there that does a very similar thing.
