The first thing you notice when picking up the iPhone 5C is how good quality the phone really feels. I managed to take a look at all the colors, and whilst I’m a big pink fan in general, I wasn’t sold immediately on the pink shade I was seeing from the pictures. It didn’t seem glossy enough to me, and then, I was thinking of purchasing the lime green phone instead. However, a quick glance of the new phones up close and people made me realize I should definitely stick with the pink one. In life, it is much more shiny and beautiful and left the others for dead in my opinion. That is a girls opinion, though!

When you hear rumors of the budget iPhone being the name, long before any real named surfaced, it was hard to not paint a rather bleak picture in your head when thinking about the outcome. Generally, you would think that if you don’t have enough money, then go for the ‘C’ version. That isn’t the case at all, and even if the internal hardware isn’t any better, the outer shell is a great deal lighter than the old iPhone, and it does still have a great build quality feel to it. On the flip side to that, there has been some reports of this years iPhone’s, including both, being less durable than the last ones. That may be the case, however, it wouldn’t really be of any surprise because the old ones feel more like army tanks compared to these sleek new ones. Now, that isn’t necessarily a knock on the newer models, depending on how you want to look at it. At the end of the day it would be hard to expect it more durable, because it is simply so thin and lightweight. Having said that, it is a change from Apple tradition, because we do normally see extra durability added as the year go by.

On looks alone, call me crazy, but I was a big fan of the iPhone 5C. Plastic has never been seen as better because we all know that it means cheaper, but I like the glossy coat the C has on it. It is also very smooth to touch.

If I was to talk badly about the iPhone 5C it would have to be its timing. It’s inevitably going to have to come across some bad timing in its life if it persists on being released at the same time every single year, but this year could be as bad as it gets for a while. Why is that? As I’m writing this, in about as weeks’ time, Sony and Samsung are both launching theirs with proper events, flexible phones with curving screens. This technology is way ahead of anything I’m holding in my hand, which then brings me to my next point.

The whole duration of the iPhone 5S & 5C launch was countered by angry fans over there simply not being enough inside to make us care. Personally, I think the fingerprint scanner was certainly amazing enough, but I also find it hard to believe that Apple are simply struggling so much that they didn’t have anything better to bring out.

What is more likely the case is that they picked up on the bad timing and didn’t go overboard; instead they will focus their attention on what will be a vastly different iPhone 6 coming out next year. It’s flexible, like the rumors, 2 years ago that they latest Steve Jobs released iPhone would bring. Expect a product nothing short of spectacular.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: we live in a world well behind in time compared to what these companies have hiding behind closed doors. It is all purely dictated by business strategies for the companies to get the most out of every single release and for future technologies to continue growing. There is also an element of keeping the brands at the top and not letting the slip down anywhere from there.

Apple definitely could have come out with more. It wasn’t that they weren’t capable of it, they just didn’t want to at this present time. Having said that, I’m perfectly happy with the glistening, shining, colorful iPhone’s we have today. It does feel like an upgrade over the last version which I also was a proud owner of. I regret not having the fingerprint scanner to play with, but at the end of the day I happy with my decision to go with some color over just another black or gray iPhone. Yes, gold was an option, however, it is almost impossible to get your hands on. If you jump on eBay, some are selling for over $10,000!

Inside the box once you open it will be some ear buds and their casing also. In the same compartment is the USB cable, which for this pack is white. Everything is white inside, including the ‘hello’ message on the cover that keeps the box and the hardware separated. You can see what I’m talking about from the pic posted below.
