Owners of the LG G Flex smartphone ought to keep looking out for a new software update via the notifications panel. The new software version is D95920s and it keeps the device on the same Android 4.4.2 KitKat software but comes with a couple of important new features.

After users click the “download” and “install now” options from the display, they’ll have VoLTE improvements and free T-Mobile in-flight texting available for those up in the air. The update is only available for those within the VoLTE markets. Those people outside of the market have the same software update available from the LG Mobile Support Tool. The rest of you can find the update coming over the air (OTA), or available over WiFi.

All of you inside the region will find the over the air notification coming in automatically. Alternatively you can always stop over at the Settings > general > About Phone > Software Information and try installing the file manually that way.

As usual, we recommend installing the update using the WiFi and not the mobile data connection to avoid high traffic over the network from other people installing the same software. T-Mobile is also recommending the same from the official change-log support page which you can read here.

Apart from the two features we mentioned before, users will already have a great deal of Android 4.4.2 KitKat features patched from previous updates. You should already have transparent and white status bars, white navigate bar, immersive mode, wireless cloud printing, new Emoji faces, improvements to the landscape keyboard, new updates to the Easter Egg and full screen album art from the lock screen. You likely already know the camera pp shortcut available from the lock screen too!

Those preferring to err things on the side of caution should prefer backing up the existing data including the WiFi passwords, settings, phone contacts, pictures, music and video files. You can use third-party applications to help you such as helium for Android from the Google Play Store. Otherwise use in the built-in feature from the phone.
