As the release date for the LG G3 beckons on May 27 we are anticipating some mighty leaks and today we have our pick of the bunch so far with two of the gray/metal color choices out in all their glory for us to see.
Always take these photos with a grain of salt because we know that, as good as smartphone cameras are these days, they still have a way of altering colors at times that don’t make it 100% reliable when assessing. See the pink iPhone 5C for instance. But we know by looking at these roughly what we are getting and that is some super shine and polished work.
The lighter version is almost like chrome it is so shiny and the darker variant looks very similar to what the other bands are calling gunmetal. Interestingly enough Evleaks touched on a brush metal finish and from what I can see they do not have the typical brush metal that has the lines going through the body. If you want to see something that does take a look at the alleged Galaxy S5 prime.
Now the photo shows two of them side by side and the one on the right is lower than the phone on the left. We know that there is a G3 Mini coming that is 4.7-inches compared to the full-sized 5.2-inch model. However, we do not think that is one of each this person is holding. More likely to be the case is that because we cannot see the bottom of the photo he is not holding them evenly. If we could see more of the shot I think it would tell us that story.
On paper, the G3 is not looking spectacular but it is juts a guide and we do not know the real specs until it launches. Our sources tell us it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8974-AA system chip, Quad core, 2300 MHz, Krait 400 processor and an Adreno 330 graphics processor. What on earth is an 800 Snapdragon doing in a flagship when we are almost at the end of the 801 era? If this turns out to be true it would be very surprising and not in a good way if you plan on buying this. Things start to look up and impress when I see 3072 MB RAM system memory. That is almost double some other good phones. The recently launched Galaxy S5 has 2048 MB RAM and the HTC One M8 is exactly the same as the S5. So, like cars in a way, you cannot just look at the horsepower to determine how fast it is going to go. It looks as though LG have decided to bump up the RAM and that does bode well for at least some catch up performance if nothing else. With that being said, it is still hard to fathom this handset coming with such a weak Snapdragon. If rumors remain the same we could be seeing Snapdragon 805’s in a month or two.
Just like photo leaks we will get to know the real specs more as time goes by too so keep checking back in to learn more about looks and performance.
