Kayla opentype fontKayla is one of the fonts found in the Kayla font bundle. I found most of the fonts to remind me of calligraphy in this bundle. I also found most of the fonts to be reminiscent of the main Kayla font in the bundle. That is neither a compliment nor a criticism; I can understand that Kayla is the main font in the bundle since the full bundle is named after it, and I can understand that people might want similar fonts to the original Kayla. Moreover, I can also understand the creators of Kayla having created similar fonts on their way to the eventual font that they named Kayla. But if you are expecting 47 radically different fonts in this bundle, you’ll be left disappointed.

It was notable how easy the installation of the fonts was. Even as a Windows professional, I don’t necessarily know how to install a font and I assumed this would be a dilemma before I started the review. But all I did was open File Explorer and double-click to open the font file. Once the window opens, it shows the font and the option to install it in the form of a button at the top of the same window. So installing the font couldn’t have been any easier thankfully. I didn’t need to do any unzipping or anything.

I was taken aback when I saw the price of the Kayla font bundle. Would I pay $550 for a font? No, I would use one of the many free ones out there. But this bundle does come with some specific use cases. I can see by the names of each of the fonts within the bundle that there may be specific reasons you want one of the fonts. For instance, there’s a font in the bundle called “baby boy” and the font did indeed remind me of a baby boy. So mothers may wish to use this for a baby shower or something similar. I can also understand artists wanting to make a living for their work, so I don’t have an issue with the pricing necessarily. It’s up to you whether you find that price affordable.

The Kayla font bundle features 47 premium fonts. That’s not an exaggeration either: there are 47 separate files, each with a different name. Inside each of those files are various versions of the one main font listed in the file name. So it’s actually generous of them to say that there are only 47 fonts in this bundle. Technically, there are hundreds of separate fonts when you take into account the variations of each of the 47 main fonts.
