The XXUBMJ7 is a new version just released today of the Android 4.3 that has been around for the Note 3 LTE N9005 for a while. Dating back towards the beginning of October is when we first starting issuing guides for the 4.3. This below will teach you everything you need to know to install it. Most people will be out of here in less than ten minutes. However, if you are new to flashing files then we highly recommend you take the time to read our checklist to make sure you have it all covered.
Prerequisites:
- You will need a Windows PC for the guide because it requires the use of Odin which is software for Windows. If it is out of the question to find a Microsoft based computer, then there is a workaround which you can install that will then let you use something like a Mac. For the most part, it’s a hassle so always try to avoid this. If it means going to a friend’s place instead of your own, then that would be easier. I believe it involved downloading some extra framework or something of that nature.
- Following on from the theme of the things you will need before you can consider starting, you will need to enable USB debugging. On the Note 3 go to Menu -> Settings -> Developer Options and in here will be an option to check the box called USB debugging.
- Security is normally a great thing, but in this case it can interrupt signals and therefore turning it off before continuing is the way to go. Simply disable it for now and then enable it once you are done with the manual.
- Back ups are always advised, because without it you can end up with nothing left after you turn on the phone other than the operating system itself when your phone was first turned on. Just following the instructions won’t leave you without any data left, but in the odd case that a problem was to come about, then it can happen. It’s for that reason that we always encourage people to back up their personal settings and any sensitive data which they don’t want to lose. This is done via the internal storage so it is nice and easy.
- Any type of root access will be revoked by updating to this official firmware because it is a signed copy by Samsung themselves. There is usually ways that root access can be found again on the newer version of firmware, which in this case is the XXUBMJ7 Android 4.3 build.
- This step by step guide is to be used on the Note 3 LTE N9005 model number only and no other. It won’t work if this is incorrect. To check yours you can visit the back cover of the device and look for the engraving. What’s worse is that failing to install it on the right one can lead to bricked tablets, which is a nightmare to try to fix and often will be the end of the life for yours unless there has been a method developed already to save it.
- This first came out over the air by Samsung more than three days ago and now is available for a manual download which is what we have here.
- Update Galaxy Note 3 LTE N9005 With Android 4.3 XXUDMJ7 Jelly Bean OTA
How to update Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE N9005 with Android 4.3 XXUDMJ7 Jelly Bean
1. Download the Jelly Bean XXUDMJ7 file here.
2. Download Odin 3 from here.
3. Save and extract both of them to the computer.
4. Put it into download mode: Volume Down, Home and Power button simultaneously will do this for you.
5. Connect the Note 3 to the PC with the USB cord.
6. The phablet should now be picked up inside of Odin and tell you that it is seen with a message explaining so.
7. Click PDA and upload the tar file from the extracted contents.
8. Leave settings as default.
9. Press start and wait until a 0asage saying “pass” is said on the screen. This is letting you know that it is all good to continue and the installation was successful.
10. Don’t disconnect anything until you see that message. Once it has been cleared then you can unplug it from the PC and be on your way.
12. It should boot itself back up. This is to take it out of the previous download mode and to put it back in the normal state that it was in which is also the same state you should always use it in. This will happen by default so you can then use it without any need to worry.
13. Remember to always right-click the USB symbol in the Windows taskbar and click on the green arrow that says ‘safely remove hardware’ when you hover the cursor over it. Now right-click > select the gray area >USB Mass Storage Device > stop button > select the flash drive in the ‘stop a hardware device’ section and click OK. It will now say ‘safe to remove hardware’ in a bubble that’s popped up on the taskbar
The final specs for this device came to us in August of 2013 and by the 1st of September it was given the GCF certification which is when we all knew that there would be a global LTE version of the Note coming. Before that time, there was only speculation what models might coming to the country you might be in. For the most part, that makes it easier for owners of the LTE for installations of this nature because there is less confusion.
The Note 3 came in two different version that both had a different processor in each. One had the Exynos 5 Octa which is known as a great core to have in its own right and the other had the Snapdragon 800 which is very popular today and widely regarded as the best processor Android has to offer now that doesn’t include any 64-bit architecture.
