The HTC One X+, which is getting old now, has just endorsed an upgrade to the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. This update has already begun rolling out over the air to selected devices. It is launched in the Taiwan region so far.
Users will also be able to update manually once the file becomes available from HTC’s website. This upgrade isn’t compatible for AT&T users, however, so be careful.
The HTC One is a great device for this update because it has the Sense 5 included. To get the best of this you will have to look deeper into it because of the appearance it won’t seem like much, but there is.
The first thing you’ll notice in the “5” version of it is the menu bar down the bottom. When they issued out the actual handsets that came with the Sense 5 we saw the buttons on the phone changed completely so that there were only 1 home button and nothing else instead of the three that used to be there. This goes with the five new options that are on the screen itself. Now when we don’t have one of those new devices, it doesn’t matter, we still get the same five options presented to us, but we keep the three standard buttons that were there in the old phones.
When we get to the Google Play widget we can then swipe our hands over to the left and Blinkfeed will appear. This is another new feature that is really cool. Not a huge fan of the name myself, but it does represent what it does so I can’t complain too much. Basically, it brings up all the latest news for stuff that you are interested in. A bit like FlipBoard only native for your Android. You can pick what it will show you. For example, if you are a social network nut, then you can have Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and any of the others as long as they have apps which most if not all do.
