A new over the air update has just rolled out for the Google Play Edition of the HTC One mobile phone. This update has the build number of JWR66Y 3.07.1700.1, and it will upgrade the devices to the very latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. This update has been brought out to fix a particular security flaw which was found the other week.
As with most security holes, developers worked quickly to find a fix.
Security is something you really don’t want to mess around with, in particular of you are the kind of person where you have information you don’t want vulnerable. For that reason it is always advised to download the updated firmware as promptly as possible.
Once installed, the firmware will seem just like your old GPE firmware which was updated only a few weeks back from now to the 4.2.2. All updates will be basically undetectable.
Right now there is still no word when the 4.3 Jelly Bean will become available for this mobile.
We love the Google Play Edition Smartphones because the Mountain View company looks after them really well on making sure they are updated really fast all the time with the latest firmware.
