Unrooting Samsung devices is the way to get you back to the stock ROM the way your OEM and phone carrier network intended. The Samsung galaxy Note 47000 comes with several different ROM versions from around the world.
The ROM we are flashing on your device today is the stock ROM from the United Kingdom (English) and from the Carphone Warehouse phone carrier network. Since English is the most common language used, that’s the ROM we are using. However, you can download any other stock ROM for the N7000 from your area and unroot your galaxy Note using the same guide I am showing you below. We just aren’t putting all the stock ROMs here.
The Files You Need
- Download the Samsung Galaxy Note N700 stock ROM from the UK (English) here.
- Download the Odin flashing tool you need from here. Choose any of the more recent versions on the page.
- Download the Samsung USB Drivers direct to your Windows PC.
You must use a Windows PC to follow this guide. Furthermore, you can only try using it on the N700 variant of the Note series. Do not flash the file on a different model number or you will brick it. You can check the model number of your device by heading to the Settings > About Device.
Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000
- Unzip Odin on the Windows desktop and run the tool so it’s waiting.
- Unzip the stock ROM so you can upload the file soon.
- Completely power off the Note device by holding in the Power key for ten seconds.
- Reboot the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 by holding the Volume Down + Power + Home buttons.
- You should now be in the download mode. press the Volume Up key if you see a warning screen on the display.
- Now connect the Samsung galaxy Note N7000 to the same computer where you have the stock ROM and Odin waiting.
- Click the AP or PDA button in Odin and upload the stock ROM file (unzipped) to that location.
- Do not adjust any of Odin’s default Settings. If by any chance you are using an older version of Odin already on your PC and have forgotten the default Settings, make sure the re-partition box is left empty.
- Click the Start button toward the bottom of the Odin app on the computer and it will continue to flash your device with the stock firmware.
- Wait until it says “pass” before disconnecting from the computer.
Your device is now unrooted and you can no longer use the root-requiring apps from the Google Play Store. If you change your mind and would like root access once again, try checking out our rooting section on the site for all the guides you need.
