Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime
1. The first thing you need to do is extract files from the CF-Root archive to a folder on your computer. You can do that by right-clicking on the archive and selecting Extract here. Your files will be extracted in the same directory as the archive.
2. Double-click on Odin executable and it will start on your computer.
3. There’s a button that says PDA. Click on it and it will let you select a file to be flashed on your phone. Select the CF-Root file that you extracted from the archive.
4. Ensure that Repartition isn’t checked in the Odin. If it is, uncheck it.
5. You’re allowed to checkmark the boxes that say Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.
6. Turn off your phone.
7. Reboot your phone into download mode so that Odin can recognize it. To do that, hold down Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons at the same time.
8. Hit Volume UP when you see a prompt on your screen.
9. You’re now in download mode.
10. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
11. Click on Start in the Odin and wait for it to flash the selected file on your device.
12. When Odin’s done flashing the file, your phone will automatically reboot.
13. You’re now rooted!
Your Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is now rooted and the SuperSU app in your app drawer confirms the same. If you’re still concerned about the root status, download and install the Root Checker app and let it verify the root-access for you on your device.
