There is only one way to have full control over your Android operating system and that is with root access to the internal system. You need access to the root file system to do many tasks like remove the stock apps, make changes to any core system files, change boot images and do a number of other important tasks.
By default, your Android operating system is unlocked by default — and by unlocked OS we mean it originally has what we call root access. However, Android developers lock it up because it’s safer for the general population. It’s safer because it isolates any malware and locks it so no apps can talk to each other.
Files You Need
- Download the Universal one-click KingRoot rooting app from this page.
- Download the root checker app if you want to confirm the guide worked for you.
- You can root the Samsung Galaxy A8 without a PC using this rooting app if you just install it direct to your device. However, we are showing you how to transfer the app from a computer for those who want to do it the safest way.
- You are voiding the Samsung Galaxy A8 warranty by following this guide. You must open the KingUser app from your app drawer and unroot using that KingUser app. You will find the KingUser on your device after installing the KingRoot APK that comes with three apps all together.
Rooting the Samsung Galaxy A8
- Make sure you turn on the USB Debugging Mode on your Galaxy A8 by pointing to the Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging.
- Those without the Developer Options unlocked can unlock it by pointing to the Menu > Settings > About Device > Tap the build number 7 times and it will eventually tell you that it is unlocked.
- Turn on the Unknown Sources from your Galaxy S8 by pointing to the Menu > Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.
- Download the KingRoot APK file to your computer and shift it over to the desktop.
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy A8 smartphone to the computer using the USB cable.
- Copy the KingRoot APK file over to the root of the A8 smartphone internal storage SD card. The root of the SD card refers to the topmost folder.
- Unplug your A8 device from the computer once you know the one-click rooting app is on the SD card.
- Open any File Manager of your choice on the A8 and install the rooting app on your device.
- Launch the KingRoot application from your A8 app drawer and it will run on your device.
- Tap the button from the main page that suggests getting root access on your device — usually ‘Try To Root’ or ‘Get Root’.
- Wait until you get the success message from the app and exit the app.
- Manually reboot the Samsung Galaxy A8 smartphone and it will be ready to start installing the rooted apps from the Google Play Store and other third-party sources.
That’s all.
