Android’s open-ness has allowed its users to customize their devices to a greater extent. However, there’re still some restrictions on the customizations that you can make on your device.

Well, you do have a way to remove those limitations and have the freedom to do unlimited customizations on your device. You may ask how. It’s done by rooting your device. Yes, once you’ve rooted your LG G Pad 10.1 device, you’ll have access to a number of apps and tools that can help you customize your device to a level that you’ve never thought of before.

Files You Need

  1. You need a Windows running computer in order to do this tutorial.
  2. Download and install LG USB drivers on your computer, if they aren’t already installed.
  3. Download Root Package to your computer. It’s the whole package that contains everything you need to root your LG G Pad 10.1.
  4. This uses a universal root method to root the device. Therefore, the following tutorial may work on a number of Android devices.

Rooting the LG G Pad 10.1

  1. Unzip files from Root Package over to your computer by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract here.
  2. Unlock the developer options menu on your device by going to Menu->Settings->About phone and tapping on Build number for 7-8 times until it says you’re a developer.
  3. Go to Menu->Settings->Developer options on your device and turn on USB debugging.
  4. Plug in your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  5. Right-click on LG Root Script.bat and select Run as administrator to launch the rooting tool on your computer.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to gain root on your LG G Pad 10.1 device.
  7. Wait for the tool to gain root-access on your device.
  8. When the tool’s done rooting your device, reboot your device.
  9. You’re all set!

Your LG G Pad 10.1 is now rooted and you can confirm it using the Root Checker app on your device. If it says you’re rooted, you’re all set to flash a custom recovery on your LG G Pad 10.1 to enjoy many of the custom ROMs available out there for your device!
