There are many advantages to rooting the Alcatel One Touch Fierce. One app you might want to capitalize on is the WiFi Password Reader application. Yes, there is an application out there that lets you read WiFi passwords — but you must have root access for that app to work.
When we root the Alcatel One Touch Fierce, we are granting permissions to the root file system. That root file system is normally locked by default so malware has less of a chance of harming your device. To make it harder for malware, we also take away the ability to use many apps, and it’s people who prefer being able to use the apps that want to root a device.
Here how you can do it on yours:
Files You Need
- Download the MotoChopper rooting package from this page — you’ll see the link available in the original post.
- Download the universal ADB Drivers on your Windows computer.
- You must have a Windows PC to follow this guide for the drivers and the files to work.
- You are voiding the Alcatel warranty when you root the One Touch Fierce device. You need to unroot the device by flashing a stock ROM to get the warranty working once again.
Rooting the Alcatel One Touch Fierce
- Download the MotoChopper exploit directly to the computer and transfer the file over to the desktop.
- Right-click the mouse on the MotoChopper file and select the “extract here” option from the Windows menu.
- Make sure you have the USB Debugging Mode enabled on your One Touch device by heading over to the Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging Mode. It will remember your settings when you leave the Developer Options menu.
- Connect the One Touch smartphone to the computer using the USB cable.
- Double-click and launch the run.bat file you should see on the desktop after you extracted the MotoChopper file.
- That is the file that now roots your device. Wait until you finish following the on-screen instructions before rebooting your device.
That’s all.
The Alcatel One Touch Fierce now has root access and you a ready to open the Google Play Store application and start installing the root-requiring apps. Some of you might want to start by installing the root checker application.
