The HTC butterfly 2 is a mid-range device which has some great hardware and can give you the best performance in some areas, but as it is an Android phone then it should be rooted to consume every last bit of your phone. If your phone has the internal system unchained with root access then it should have a custom recovery installed on it so you will be able to tweak your phones performance. Today I will tell you a very simple and fast way to install a custom recovery on your phone. Read all parts of this article and follow the steps carefully.

Recovery is a hidden mode come pre-installed on your Android device. Recovery can be accessed by some key combination which is different for different manufacturer’s. Using recovery you can do many tasks. Custom recoveries are made by some third party developers and available on internet. Using these custom recoveries you can install custom ROM, custom kernels and can tweak your phone’s interface and performance.

Installing custom recoveries on your device is an unofficial process, not recommended by Google or HTC because this is a risky process and may brick your device if anything goes wrong during the process. This also voids your phone’s warranty and then you will get charged for any assistance for your device.

To be on the safe side, backup all of your important data stored on your phone to any safe place. Sync all of your important contacts to your Google account. Backup all of your media files to your PC or any other external drive.

You need a Windows-based PC, a USB cable and your phone rooted and with at least 70% battery left on it. The installation process is only for HTC butterfly 2 do not try to install this files any other device or it will brick your device.

Steps to Install TWRP Custom Recovery on HTC Butterfly 2

  1. First install your phone’s USB driver to your PC, you can do this by installing HTC Sync on your PC.
  2. Now set up ADB drivers on your PC, download and install from here.
  3. Download TWRP recovery image file and put it on your desktop.
  4. Right-click on the desktop while holding the Shift key and click on “open command window here”.
  5. In the command window, type adb reboot bootloader and press enter.
  6. Now type these two commands one after another:

    fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

    fastboot reboot

After that your phone has been rebooted automatically to OS mode. Now your phone has TWRP custom recovery installed on it and you can tweak your phone’s UI and performance.
