No one’s sure what Google has up its sleeve, but it’s no secret they have been working on lots lately. The last thing to be rumored was the Google Glasses set to come out early next year offering never seen before technology.
Now the latest rumor is that Google has trademarked the name “Google showy” about a device that can control electronics around the home like a television set from a computer somehow. The official document is shown below of Google trademarking the name Google showy today.
With that in mind, I think it’s safe to say Google have some sort of plans to bring to us in the not too distant future some kind of Google TV that has capabilities we haven’t seen before regarding remote controlling. They may also be working on voice control for the devices too according to a source. Success will have them rivaling the likes of Apple and Microsoft in the entertainment department.
No offense Google, but with a name like “showy” I don’t think you really needed to bother with the trademark. But then again it’s not like you’ll notice the small fee applied either. Makes you wonder what names they’ll be using in 20 years time doesn’t it? Maybe we need to extend the English language for business purposes alone. So that company doesn’t have to resort to such bad sounding words.
