A new XWUAMH1 build has just come out for the Galaxy Tab 3.8.0 T311. This will give users a newer version of the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. This is an official firmware released by Samsung for their devices.
Don’t expect anything great coming to the Tab in this upgrade. As so many of them are, this one is just about bugs and minor tweaks to fix certain issues and solve certain problems. Having said that, if you personally have experienced troubles, or somebody you know has, then steer them in this direction because it will sort them out.
The XWUAMH1 firmware is being released over the air to selected areas. What that basically means is that users will have it coming directly to their settings app, and will get a notification when it arrives. If unsure, you can always navigate yourself over to the settings and look for any new messages that have come in. You may need to click on the software button for this to take effect.
Within the next 3 days will more than likely see the release of the file given by Samsung, which will then let Tab owners download the file manually. Many of you will need to do this. The most common group is those of you with aftermarket add-ons, because you will be excluded from the settings arrivals. Once you update, however, then you will be able to receive the future updates like normal again — straight into the device without manual action required.
To Install the new version of Android 4.2.2 users need to download ODIN and upload the files through that service.
