Popular technology website, No-where-else in France has leaked some more pictures–this year for the HTC One M9 code-named Hima. The first thing you’ll notice from the picture is that the stock (main) color is changing from a predominant gun-metal gray or silver to more of a beige color. It looks nice with the screen turned off so the display is black, but it’s definitely something to look out for if this photo is authentic.
No-where-else is a website which often comes up with genuine leaks around this time of the year. We’ve used them as a source over the past two years and on both occasions the pictures were true. While nothing is confirmed yet, we believe this is the real new M9 flagship smartphone for the HTC company.
The flagship for this Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets often underwhelmed on the spec sheet but comes up trumps with design. Last year’s M8 received generally positive receives because of its beautiful shape and overall appeal on the eye. According to reports which are coming out the same time as this picture leaking, the new Hima phone is coming with a 20 megapixel rear-facing camera.
You might remember last year, the main feature people felt was lacking was the camera quality. HTC tried to call their specification for the camera as Ultra-pixel to trick people into thinking that it was incomparable to a normal megapixel. However, that strategy didn’t work for long and people realized the quality was lacking. that mistake isn’t happening again.
The new Hima phone comes with a 20.7 MP camera on the rear. You can see from the photo that’s it’s a square design this year and not the round deign like the M8 flagship device from past year. Furthermore, it’s black around the lens, making the camera look really obvious. We know we cannot make the camera disappear from the design, so companies are trying to have them standout by design. The lens appears as though it stick out from the back cover and doesn’t sit flush. That’s always a wise decision so if you have it sitting on a table it doesn’t scratch the lens.
Last year’s M8 flagship came with the HTC Sense 6 user interface, Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, 5.0 inch display, 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, 441 ppi pixel density, 4 ultra-pixel camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 system chip, Quad core, 2300 MHz, Krait 400 processor and 2048 MB RAM system memory.
Sources suggest that the Hima is coming out for unveiling on March 1. That means we still have over a month of waiting and likely many more leaks with hardware, camera, display and other leaks.
