Windows 10 comes with a revamped Photos app (which takes the place of the old Windows Photo Viewer). It will take some getting used to, and there will be some features you never get the hang of or never will know how to use—like getting an image to have a white background instead of being transparent, for example—but it is hard to argue that the new Photos app is an improvement, thanks to its vast array of new features.
You still have the old Photo Viewer app available by default in all versions of Windows so you can select it as your default app if you want to revert to what you learned before in Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 And if you are one of the unlucky ones who does not see the Photo Viewer there as you should, there is also a workaround for that to get it back again.
You probably will not love photos anywhere near enough to get to know all the new features the new Photos app possesses, but one of the features you might be interested in learning is how to enable the zoom for the mouse wheel. With it turned on, you can use your computer’s mouse to zoom in and out of the picture instead of using the same button for viewing the next or previous pictures.
Here is what you need to turn on the option for zooming in and out of pictures by using the mouse wheel when you’re using a version of the Windows 10 operating system.
How to Enable Zoom with Mouse Wheel in Photos in Windows 10
You can set up the mouse so that it will zoom in and out when you use the wheel in the Photos app in the Photos app settings. Here is how to do that:
1. Open the Start menu and Photos app.
2. With the Photos app open, click on the three-dotted See More icon.
3. Click Settings.
4. Under the Viewing and Editing heading, check the box next to View next or previous item or Zoom in and out under Mouse Wheel.
The default setting is to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel, but the option is there to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel instead.
In conclusion, that is how to enable zooming in and out with the mouse wheel in the Photos app in Windows 10.
