The word prime became a household name in the smartphone industry earlier this year when Sammy leaked heaps of rumors about a ‘primed’ Samsung Galaxy S5. Since then many devices have come into fruition, including the Galaxy Alpha. However, not all devices have the same appeal of all places around the world since we know there are many differences in the economy. Manufacturers play a role in trying to even out the prices, but sometimes new top-end smartphones with amazing specs are too expensive to own for a lot of people.
That’s where the new Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime steps in. The fresh Grand sports a 5 MP front-facing shooter to specialize in taking those ‘selfie’ photos — the ones that are so popular to see as social media profile pictures. That’s more megapixels than the S5 (2.1), the HTC One M8 (4.0) and the iPhone 6 (1.2), making it a stand-out with taking the best photos of your face when the phones in your hands. people resort to taking photos in the mirror without the front- facing camera.
The handset inherits much of its looks from the Galaxy S5. You can hardly tell the difference by looking at it from the outside. It has the same body shape, the same camera lens shape and the official press renders are coming out with the same beautiful KitKat wallpaper that we know and love from the S5.
The prime variant of the grand is a nice mid-ranger that won’t break the bank, but doesn’t hold a lot of additional value apart from the superior camera on the front. Nonetheless, if you want a new smartphone that has a big display, high-resolution display, high-resolution camera, dual SIM card support, quad-core processor, lots of RAM and fast 4G mobile data support, this is one to look out for in the coming months.
More specifically, it sports a 1.2 GHz processor, Snapdragon 400 system chip, 8 megapixel rear-racing camera, micro SD card slot for extra storage space externally, 8 GB of internal memory, qHD 540×960 resolution and a 2,600 mAh battery. It also comes with all the usual bells and whistles including a snapper with Autofocus, Geo tagging, High Dynamic Range mode, Night mode, Digital zoom, Self-timer, Effects and more.
The official price tag of this new mobile is price tag of Rs. 15,499 in the local language or in between $250-$300 US dollars depending on the exchange rate at purchase time. There are two shades of white and gray to kick off sales and if all goes well it can see extra colors added at a later date.
