If you aspire to order your dad a great Father’s day present and spend more than you normally would because, he has been extra special this year then why not bundle some great Amazon products together such as the Kindle Fire HDX and the Fire TV. Together you can get them right now for only $249, a saving of under $80!
There ‘re lots of different tablets in the Kindle range so let me run through them with you, so you understand them all. There is an Amazon Kindle fire, Amazon Kindle Fire HD, HD 2013, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire 7. That’s a total of 5 different variants and the ones with 7 on the end are misleading in the tech-world because many of us associate that with being the display size. However, all of the tablets in this range are 7-inches even, so there is no different there. The HDX 7 is the newest out of the bunch, and it arrived on the 18th of October 2013. The original HD variant came out in September of 2012, and the original Fire came out in November of 2011.
Now that we know this is the pick of the collection lets take a glance at what else it has in store for us. There is the Fire OS 3.0 UI that comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It weighs only 311 grams, and it is obviously a tablet. The display has a high resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and high pixel density with 323 ppi. The technology within the screen is LCD, and it does have multi-touch and features a light sensor. It does have a front facing camera, but specs on it are hard to find. The SoC is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8074, and the processor is a Quad core, 2260 MHz, Krait 400. That is combined with 2048 MB RAM system memory and 16 GB of inner storage space although only 8 GB of that can be used by the owner because the rest is taken up with preinstalled apps and OS.
Some of the notable areas that we would like to see improved in the future editions are the lack of rear camera, no MicroSD card for additional storage space via external sources and the battery is non user-replaceable. If storage is something, you need to have then thought twice before buying this tablet. 8 GB will equal around about 8 movies being stored on this tablet before you run out of space and if they were 1080p movies you wouldn’t even fit that many. That’s obviously not what this tablet is for, and often the memory is a common place to cut down on when creating a cheaper device. For fathers, this should be perfect because I don’t know many Dads out there that need space as teenagers and young adults demand but only you will know what suits your own father.
Amazon announced the Fire TV back in April of this year and for just under $100 it was created to contend with Apple TV and Google TV. For what it is worth it did a pretty good job of it, and it didn’t get the recognition it deserved because many of us were anticipating this being a big year for Apple and Google TV respectably, but that didn’t happen so far. That led to use assuming the Fire TV wouldn’t last at the top very long, but it’s still well worth having to this day. With it, you can stream lots of movies from NetFlix, Hulu Plus, Amazon instant video and more. There’s also a deal where if you subscribe to Amazon prime you can access 40,000 “Prime Instant Videos,” and exclusive HBO TV shows. They haven’t told us which shows from HBO will air, but some of our own personal favorites are on that channel including Game of Thrones, true Detective, Boardwalk Empire, true Blood and also other older classic such as Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Visit the Amazon Fire TV and Kindle Fire HDX 7″ 16GB Bundle page here to add it to your cart and also take a closer look at what you are getting. It is currently in stock but before you get too excited log in using your account and check that the deal is available to be shipped to your country because sometimes not all countries are available depending on the product.
