Today we’ve been greeted with some leaks for the iPad 5. There is an image that shows the front panel, right where the home button is, and we can confirm that it seems to have the fingerprint sensor on board.
The launch of the next generation iPad for 2013 is predicted to be announced next week, where we know Apple are holding a mystery event.
The touch ID technology was first launched with the flagship iPhone 5S Smartphone last month. Other than a few hacks and bug it has been generally a successful launch and we should expect to see it introduced to all types of devices in the near future.
Samsung was expected to bring it out in the Galaxy Note 3, however, due to a last-minute charge of heart it will no longer be there.
It will be interesting to see how these companies combine the touch ID sensor to go along with the flexible screens which are also this year’s brand new technology.
The all new iPad mini is also expected to be launched with the full-sized tablet. Both of them are coming with the new sensor and not just one like they did with the mobiles. This is because both are considered of the same quality and not one ahead of the other. The mini version will come cheaper only because it is smaller.
The iPad 5 is rumored to have the name iPad Air and is coming with a 9.7-inch display, 2048 x 1536 pixels screen resolution, iOS 7 software, 264 ppi pixel density and IPS LCD screen technology. The rear-facing camera is 5 megapixels and the front-facing camera is 1.2 megapixels. Furthermore, there are loads of features including Autofocus, Back-illuminated sensor, Face detection, Touch to focus, Digital image stabilization Dynamic Range mode and a 1080p HD Camcorder.
The hardware comes with an Apple A7 with 64-bit system chip, Dual core, 1400 MHz, Cyclone processor, PowerVR G6430 graphics processor and 1024 MB RAM of system memory coupled with a whopping 128 GB internal storage space.
