A new software update is rolling out to T-Mobile subscribers using the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet. All owners want to look out for the notification automatically alerting them that their tablets are ready for updating. The new software comes with two additional features and IPv6 improvements. The features include upgrading the operating system to 4.4.4 KitKat and the Download Booster. You can view the official changelog page from this link.

We know the final stages of KitKat firmware don’t come with many features since most of the features came with the previous Android 4.4.2 number. Nevertheless numerous phone carrier networks preferred to continue fine-tuning the OS.

The over the air notification is arriving for the P607 model number. You can check yours by turning the device on and tapping the Settings App followed by ‘About Device.’ Users can also check the software version they are running from the same section. That way you know if the update is successful or not. We always recommend using the WiFi network instead of the mobile data plan. Mobile data comes with the same charges applied for downloading. Moreover, since countless people are installing the same update as you the mobile data network will have high traffic. High traffic leads to less stable connections.

Everyone still running the P607TUVUANE2 build number will receive a notification to update the OS to the new P607TUVUANJ4 build between the 12th of November and the 28th of November. All roll-outs happen in phases to customers and that’s why the long delay. Some of you will already notice the OTA ready and other will be waiting weeks. You can always elect to put the download on hold and come back at a later date by navigating to the Settings > About Device > Software Updates > Check For Updates and installing it that way.

You must have at least 50% battery charge before attempting to install the upgrade. You don’t want the tablet shutting down during the procedure or else it leads to requiring factory resets.

The total file size is 320 MB, so it will take some time until it finishes. Another reason to use the Home WiFi when it’s available.
