Rooting the Samsung Galaxy E5 has become much easier and faster, all thanks to Chainfire for his awesome work. Although the said device is new in the market, it’s been able to get a root method so that the users can enjoy hundreds of root-requiring apps available out there on their devices.
If you’ve got a brand new Galaxy E5 and wondering how you could root it, here’s how:
The Files You Need
1. Download and install Samsung USB Drivers on your computer, if you haven’t done so yet. These drivers will help your computer to recognize your device.
2. Download Odin to your computer. You’ll need this tool to flash your Samsung phone.
3. Download the appropriate CF-Root package to your computer. Make sure to choose the one that is for your specific variant of the device:
- SM-E500F
- SM-E500H
- SM-E500M
Rooting the Samsung Galaxy E5
1. First of all, extract the archives that you have downloaded on your computer. Right-click on both Odin and CF-Root and select Extract here and it’ll extract the files for you.
2. Double-click on Odin and wait for it to launch on your computer.
3. In the Odin, click on PDA and choose CF-Root available on your computer.
4. Repartition option must NOT be checkmarked in the Odin. If it’s checkmarked by default, uncheck it.
5. Feel free to checkmark both Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options.
6. Turn off your phone.
7. Reboot your phone into download mode by holding down Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons at the same time.
8. Press Volume UP and you’ll be in download mode.
9. Once in download mode, plug in your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
10. Click Start in the Odin and wait for it to flash CF-Root on your phone.
11. When CF-Root is flashed, your phone will automatically reboot.
12. You’re done.
It was really easy to gain root-access on the Samsung Galaxy E5, wasn’t it?
Since you now have root on your device, you can install whatever root-requiring apps you want on your device. They’ll all work like a charm!
You can now find out how to install a custom recovery on the Samsung Galaxy E5 smartphone so you can take NANDroid Backups for the first time. Additionally, you can use your recovery to install new ROMs and custom kernels.
