The LG G2 is the Life’s Good companies latest hit smart phone, which was released over the summer, and by all reports so far, is performing well. As usual, it isn’t long before a new Android device, no matter the carrier, develops a root method thanks to the large range and talented hacker population. That is the case again with this particular device, as we’ve now seen the root method become available to the public, and we’ll show you how it’s done step by step below as long as you’re with either AT&T, T-Mobile or any of the Korean carriers.
We have taken the time to list a set of prerequisites everybody should look at before starting the guide beneath it. They are as follows:

- This guide is meant for the LG G2 only and no other device. If you try to use it for anything else it won’t work and can cause serious damage. Also note the specific carriers that it is intended for. If you are not with T-mobile, AT&T or any carrier in Korea then this will not work for you.
- Download the suitable USB drivers for the LG G2. Drivers can always be found on the official website of the manufacturer.
- Create a full back up or your personal data and settings. We recommend backing up to the handset’s internal storage. This is what it was designed for and it’s a good idea to get accustomed to using it.
- Once the root has developed the warranty rights of the device will be lost. That means you won’t be able to take it in to get repaired under warranty anymore. There is a simple workaround for this, but it involves taking away the root access and downgrading to the stock firmware again.

How To Root The LG G2 In Korea And For AT&T & T-Mobile Carriers:
1. Download the latest LG USB drivers for your computer. This is required for a proper connection with your device.
2. Next, you need to have ADB up and running.
3. Make sure USB debugging is turned on.
Note: To test if the ADB is switched on the head to the command line and type “adb devices”. If working your serial number should show up.
4. Download and install the following: http://www.mgyun.com/vroot
5. This is a bit difficult because it’s in Chinese. What you need to do is follow the screen until the model number of the mobile and LG-D800 appearing. This should happen after it loads. Give it some time to finish. On here will be a button in the bottom right hand corner, click it. It should say root with some Chinese writing on top of it.
6. Click the button to begin the rooting process. Wait patiently for it to complete. It will take a few minutes before it is done.
7. Replace the Chinese binary by doing the following:
– Download SuperUser/ClockworkMod from Google Play.
– Open it and wait for a Chinese Window to pop up. Now press the right button to grant root permission.
– The SuperUser tool will now prompt to update the binary.
– Confirm and select to install this.
8. Install Titanium backup from Google Play. Open it and freeze the Chinese root manager app.
9. Go back to SuperUser and open it. Install the Superuser binary. Reboot when done. This should now have your G2 rooted in English. You can now uninstall the Chinese version of the root manager.
A fairly lengthy process, but it is the only way from now on.
