Finally, after a one week deadline, OnePlus’s OxygenOS is now available for download. Head on the link and load your phone with the awesome OxygenOS.

“Our goal for OxygenOS is to provide faster, more meaningful updates and a better-integrated range of services for every OnePlus user,” said OnePlus’ Carl Pei in a blog post. OnePlus states that their philosophy behind OxygenOS is keep it light and essential. Carl also emphasised on the basics of philosophy “We place things like performance and battery life over gimmicks and bloated features.”

OxygenOS OnePlus One

The initial release of OxygenOS was very similar to stock Android whether the design UI or the functions is concerned. But the OnePlus team added tons of features in the recent OxygenOS release to enhance and improve User Experience and User Interface.

The foremost features of the flagship killer’s official OS, the OxygenOS is gesture support which was first spotted on Oppo’s Color OS and available on Cyanogen OS 11s. And the ground-breaking thing about this is you can draw various gestures even if the device’s screen is turned off and quickly launch basic apps like camera, calculator, flashlight etc.

Another jaw-dropping feature is the improved quick settings which allows you to change and reorder settings tiles and choose those tiles you want to be visible. It looks like that OxygenOS has taken its inspiration from Paranoid Android. This is as many folks including Aaron Gascoine (co-founder of PA, technical lead), Arz Bhatia (UI/UX lead), Carlo Savignano, Hieu Nguyen, Jesús David Gulfo Agudelo, and Yamil Ghazi. Besides these PA people, OnePlus purportedly has another 50 engineers  who have contributed to Paranoid Android now readily contributing to OnePlus’s OxygenOS.  It just seems like CM12 from outside, and appears to be stock lollipop from Inside!

OxygenOS customizes your device to your needs with awesome themes and wallpapers. Also, it includes is a file manager for most of power users. Also, switching between capacitive and on-screen navigation keys feature is available.

You can download the OxygenOS with full installation details from here. Mind that updating to OxygenOS will require you to wipe the system and flash the ROM manually. So I advice to back up your data and apps. There’s a special app for providing feedback to the team, you can download it from here.
