It’s no uncommon for an electronic device to drop down considerably in price after it’s release, however, the fashion in which it has been happening of late is something worth noting.

As of today, you can now get the Moto X — which was only released a short while ago- for $99 at Best Buy. Granted, they are calling it a sale currently, but I’m under the impression that the price will stay rather than be a short time only kind of a deal.

This comes just days after the iPhone 5C was drastically reduced at selected retailer earlier in the week. It normally takes much longer for prices to be slashed in this manor. The Moto X deal comes to customers with a two year contract only.

If it’s anything but an iPhone that you want to shop around for in the next little while, this is looking like the deal to get in on. It’s a great price for a great phone, one I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on myself. It also isn’t a mobile that everybody around the world has the joyous time of being able to own. If you were to be located outside of the states, you would only be exposed to a cheaper version that looks similar, but doesn’t come with the same good inside.

To serve as a refresher, the Moto X is a mid-range smartphone starting off on Android 4.2.2 jelly Bean and seeing four software updates since coming out of the box. It is now running Android 4.4.3 KitKat, and that is nearly the newest operating system we have.

In addition, it comes with the screen size of 4.7-inches, 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution, 316 ppi pixel density, AMOLED screen technology, scratch resistant glass and the common light sensor and proximity sensor.

Furthermore, the hardware, boats a Motorola X8 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960 system chip, Dual core, 1700 MHz, Krait processor, Adreno 320 graphics processor and 2048 MB RAM system memory.

The camera offers 10 megapixels on the rear and a front-facing 2 megapixel shooter. The back comes with LED flash and there’s a bevy of other features including Touch to focus, Autofocus, High Dynamic Range mode , Panorama, Geo tagging and more.
