TK Tech News is a new small blog that started up this year. So far we have used their resources for several leaks and today they’ve seemingly managed to do it again with the new Moto X+1 video leak that gives us a full detailed description along with a narrative voice walking us through what we see. In addition, he fills us in on the features that we can physically see along with some extras that we can expect to see with the Moto maker and more.

Moto X+1

The picture we shared above is a new idea that Motorola are rolling with that has the power button positioned below the camera lens. All of that surrounded by the gorgeous bamboo wood-grain finish. The power button is the logo itself.

Interestingly, if you take a look around the camera lens you can see a round clear tube flash where it can potentially light up. That means that when we take a photo that ring will light up. Bare in mind this is just from what we can see and is not confirmed so take everything with a grain of salt. However, we know this site from previous leaks so they are obviously well within the inner circle of Motorola somehow and that’s giving them the access to this information. The pictures appear genuine at this stage and that’s about all we can go on here.

It’s no secret that we are hitting a gray and gloomy period in the mobile sector where we are not seeing anything new happen. That will change in the future eventually but right now this design says to me that we are focusing on looking different as a pose to bringing anything else amazing to the table. It’s unlikely you’ll see such a dramatic change in appearance and so much time spent on a couple little aspects if we were about to witness the launch of something spectacular. With that said, I love the look of this new design. We saw the wood grain introduced with the original Moto X and I’m glad it’s back. The shape of the handset does suit the wood finish and the power button is extremely interesting.

The Moto X+1 is coming with Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS, a physical size of 5.2-inches, 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution, 424 ppi and a multi-touch touch screen. The camera boasts a 12 megapixel LED flash on the rear and a 2 megapixel snapper on the front. The hardware includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 8974-AC system chip, Quad core, 2500 MHz, Krait 400 processor, Adreno 330 graphics processor, 2048 MB RAM system memory and 16 GB of internal storage space.

As you can see, there’s nothing groundbreaking in the specifications. The issue many people had last year with the original Moto X was the price. Many people don;t mind not having the top of the range specs, but if it is priced higher than it should be that’s when people are not going to give this phone a look. I’m predicting that word to have gone well within the walls at Motorola and they will give a competitive price.

Furthermore, you should know that the wood will only be one style and it will come with other options that the Moto devices are so famous for. The outer rim comes with an aluminium finish similar to the Galaxy S5 Alpha.
