Not to be confused with the LG G2, the Moto G2 XT1068 is the second coming of the original first generation Moto G. Dating back to August of 2013 we saw the Moto X announced and later released on the 23rd of the same month. It was the first smartphone in a trio available for different prices and different specs. The X variant being the most expensive, the G is being in the middle and the Moto E is rounding out the bottom end.

The ‘G’ variant provides the best bang for your buck experience for any phone on the market according to countless trustworthy sources. It also ranks high up on our own votes. Whatever you personally put it’s hard to argue that it doesn’t deserve a second coming and that’s what the guys from Motorola have decided to do.

Moto G2

While not a great picture, the website, namely Mellando No Android allegedly has their hands on the new Moto G2 as you can see from the picture in this post. The photo leaves out the top and bottom so it’s hard to judge what variety of bezel we are looking at. However, it does offer enough of the design for us to confirm that it isn’t a smartphone, we already know that exists out in the wild.

What we love about the original Moto G produces earlier this year is that the OS is well looked after and saw a bevy of updates. After starting with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean it saw Android 4.4 KitKat and stayed as relevant as you could hope with 4.4.2, 4.4.3 and finally the latest 4.4.4 KitKat. Given that the last two software updates were minor there;’s little doubt of Motorola intentions and it’s got the extra value meter pointing straight up for those looking to buy. In addition, it is known for its high-resolution display, high pixel density screen, fast mobile data support and its Quad-core processor.

The new G2 is reportedly fixed with new speakers and a new camera that are going to be the focal point of enjoying this handset over the last installment. This handset is fitted with a front-facing speaker where there original only had it mounted on the back. We saw hints of Motorola experimenting with this idea on the Moto E and now we are seeing it deployed on a more expensive handset. Some will look at that as being excellent value for the cheaper options, but don’t forget it was essentially a guinea pig for a new idea that wasn’t necessarily a big hit or going to pay off. Having already gained knowledge and experience on the matter for most of this year they’ve now had the chance to sit back and iron out the kinks.

Furthermore, the new phone will have 1280 x 720 resolution display, 320 ppi pixel density, Adreno 305 GPU and a Snapdragon 400 chipset. Combining those specs it is almost a carbon copy from the first attempt there. However, the one big difference is that the new handset comes with an 8 megapixel camera instead of the 5 megapixel shooter featured in the last.
