Microsoft Edge’s market share has been growing steadily so far during 2019, with all but one month resulting in good growth.
Microsoft developers are currently in the midst of making big changes to Edge—its foundation will soon be Chromium instead of Microsoft’s own Edge rending engine—so not many people were expecting Edge to be gaining new users.
There are still many people around the world yet to get online at all, let alone on a regular basis. So in truth, Edge’s usage will be steadily growing even if the market share is not. Nevertheless, Edge is still managing to take away market share from Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, which is what has lead to its all-time market share at the moment.
The new Chromium-powered Microsoft Edge browser is now available for testing. You can download it for free from the Microsoft Edge Insider website.
