You can now easily unroot the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance I8580 using the guide below. If you came here from using the Kingroot tool, you can unroot using that same tool. Simply open the KingUser it installed and tap on the Settings from the menu. Now click the ‘remove root’ option from the list. Soon your device will have the root access removed and your device will be running the ‘stock’ Android is was running out of the box. However, if you came here from using a different method, it’s best to flash the official firmware build again using the Odin tool. Here’s how that’s done:
This guide is only for the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance with model number GT-I8580. Do not attempt to flash this file on any other model number. You can check the model number you have easily by heading to the Settings > About Device > and checking the model number.
You can only use this guide if you own a Windows PC. The guide does work for notebooks that have a working USB port. Without the USB port, you cannot connect the Samsung smartphone. Further, without Windows running, you cannot use the Odin tool.
The files you need
- Download the official firmware build for your Galaxy Core Advance GT-I850 device from this page.
- Download Odin 3.07 from our page here. If the link isn’t working at your time of visit, you can use one of the other options. Choose between Odin 3.04 and Odin 3.09 first.
- Download the Samsung USB drivers for the Windows computer.
Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy Core Advance I8580
- Unzip the Odin flashing tool and the firmware files to the desktop of the Windows PC.
- Run the Odin tool and leave it open.
- Shut down the smartphone entirely by holding the Power key in for about ten seconds.
- Reboot the Core Advance smartphone in Download Mode by pressing down the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously.
- You might need to press the Volume Up button if your device comes to a warning screen as some Samsung smartphones do.
- Now that you are in the download mode, connect the Core device to the computer where you have the two files (firmware + Odin) waiting.
- Since we should already have opened Odin, it will now detect your device from the ID: COM port. If that doesn’t happen, you might need to download the USB drivers. Those with the updated USB drivers should try rebooting the computer and trying again.
