Rooting the Sony Xperia E1 Dual is made easy thanks to the one-click Towelroot application. The Towelroot method is one of the top four ways to root an Android device and the same tool is available for probably over a hundred devices. many of those devices that are compatible with Towelroot come from the Sony smartphone and tablet range like the E1 Dual here.

The only problem with Towelroot is that Google patched the exploit during June of 2014 so you must be running a kernel version that came out before June of 2014 for it to work. Anyone can manually flash firmware and downgrade to a version of KitKat that cane be rooted, so there’s no reason anyone with the E1 Dual cannot still root the device.
