Have you ever heard about the SCR Screen Recorder application? Do you want to record the screen on your Samsung Galaxy Grand prime device? Unfortunately there are no apps available to record the screen on the Samsung Galaxy Grand prime unless you have root access.
Root access means giving your apps access to the root file system. It’s that very same file system that many apps rely on to work — and often some of the better applications like the screen recorder app. Once you root Samsung Galaxy Grand prime devices, you can easily install the SCR Screen Recorder app and start recording anything that’s on your devices display.
Files You Need
- You must unlock the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime bootloader before following this guide.
- Download the CF-Root package from this page.
- Download the ADB drivers from this page.
- Download the latest Odin version from this page. If the guide doesn’t work for you, please try one of the other versions of Odin. Eventually one of the versions will work.
- You can only use the Odin flashing tool in this guide with a Windows PC.
- You void the warranty of the Galaxy Grand Prime by following this guide. You may get the warranty working again if your device doesn’t come with Samsung’s Knox security.
- The current CF-Root file for this rooting method is based on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat software update. You should downgrade to Android 4.4.4 firmware by flashing it through Odin. That way you don’t risk the exploit being closed and bricking your device if you are running Android Lollipop or Marshmallow.
Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (SM-G5306W)
- Extract the Odin and CF-Root packages on the desktop of the computer.
- Double-click and run the Odin flashing tool so the Odin user-interface is open on your computer.
- Make sure you have the USB Debugging Mode enabled on your Galaxy Grand by heading to the Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging Mode.
- Turn off the Samsung Galaxy Grand prime smartphone.
- Reboot it in the download mode by holding the Power + Home + Volume Down buttons and then pressing the Volume Up button when it says to press Volume Up on the display.
- Connect the Galaxy Grand Prime to the computer using the USB cable.
- If the ID: COM port changes color it means the ADB drivers are working for your Samsung device. No color means you need to install the Samsung or ADB drivers properly until it works.
- Click the AP or the PDA button from the Odin user-interface and browse the desktop for the CF-Root executable file.
- Leave the default settings of Odin the way they are after you first download a fresh Odin version.
- Click the Start button and Odin will now flash that CF-Root exploit on the Galaxy device.
- Wait until you get the pass message from the Odin message box and your device reboots before unplugging from the computer.
Download the root checker app to check that your device does have access to the root file system before attempting to install any rooted apps from the Google Play Store.
