- You are voiding the warranty on your Droid 4 device by following these steps. You should unroot the device and get the warranty working again.
Rooting the Motorola Droid 4
- Download the rooting package on your Windows computer. It will end up in the Downloads folder.
- Open your Downloads folder and find the package. Now click and drag that rooting exploit over to the desktop.
- Right-click over the rooting file and choose the ‘extract here’ option.
- Make sure the USB Debugging Mode is enabled on the Motorola Droid 4 by heading to the Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging Mode.
- Those of who cannot see the Developer Options must go to Settings > About Device > tap the build number until the Developer Options is unlocked.
- Connect the Droid 4 to the computer with the USB cable you use for charging the device.
- Double-click the rootscript.bat file found in the extracted folder.
- Follow the on-screen guidelines to complete the job.
