Motorola Nexus 6

Details of Note

  • You’ll want to back up the current ROM before starting. This method hasn’t been extensively tested by myself and if something does go wrong you want to be able to get access to the recovery mode and perform a full factory reset. Now regain control of your Google account, device and restore the old data and your phone will be back to normal.
  • You want to use the built-in Nexus backup utility to store the phone contacts and as much data as you can. Then head to the Google Play Store and use a third-party app by a developer such as Helium for Android to store the rest of the data. If you are running out of space, you can try signing up to a Google Drive account where they’ll give you a limited amount of storage space for free.
  • You’ll need to enable the Developer Options menu by unlocking it from the About Device > tapping on the build number seven times. Once you have the Developer Options menu set, you can get access to it from the Settings menu. Go inside the Dev Options menu and enable the USB Debugging Mode.
  • We only recommend trying this guide from a Windows computer and not a Mac or Linux machine.
